Criterion 3.2 of the 2018 RSPO Principles and Criteria (P&C) has a requirement of continuous improvement, which includes reporting to the RSPO Secretariat using the RSPO P&C Metrics Template. The RSPO Secretariat is pleased to announce that the RSPO Standards Standing Committee endorsed the RSPO 2018 P&C Metrics Template on 13 November 2020.
The Metrics Template has a set of strategic outcome-based metrics relating directly to the P&C and aligning with the RSPO Theory of Change. It aims to enable all stakeholders to understand the progress made in the sustainable production of oil palm.
The Metrics Template and the Guidance document that provides more explanations and clarifications can be downloaded here. The translated versions of the Guidance document are available in Bahasa Malaysia, Bahasa Indonesia, Spanish, and French, while the translations of the Metrics Template are available in the Template itself.
The Metrics Template will come into effect on 1 June 2021. All audits against the 2018 P&C or the relevant National Interpretation conducted from 1 June 2021 onwards shall submit this Metric Template during the licence request stage on PalmTrace. For now, all RSPO members are welcome to test the Metrics Template for all types of audit (initial certification, recertification, and annual surveillance audit) and share your feedback with us by 30 April 2021.
RSPO will be organising a series of webinars to introduce the Metrics Template to members with a Q&A session to cover any questions you may have. You can also send your questions to us prior to the webinar. A separate introduction will be arranged with the relevant certification bodies.
If you have any questions or feedback about the Metrics Template, please do not hesitate to contact us at [email protected].
