In response to concerns expressed by RSPO members and stakeholders about the delay in process of forming the RSPO-Malaysia National Interpretation Taskforce (RSPO-MY NITF), the Malaysia Palm Oil Association (MPOA) has reiterated its interest and continued commitment in a meeting with RSPO today to lead the National Interpretation process in Malaysia.
While we believe MPOA will continue to play a vital role in the National Interpretation process for the benefits of the Malaysia palm oil sectors and stakeholders, MPOA has confirmed the meeting date of the first RSPO-MY NITF to be held on 19-20 December 2013, in Residence Hotel @ Uniten, Kajang. MPOA will start inviting nominated taskforce members for participation in the RSPO-MY NITF meeting.
Projected MY NITF meeting timeline:
- First NITF (Kick-off) meeting, on 19-20 December 2013
- Second NITF Meeting, by mid of January 2014
- Public consultation, starting end of January 2014 for 60 days
- Third NITF Meeting, by early April 2014
- BOG endorsement, by April 2014
The projected timeline is subject to change as the final timeline will be determined during the first MY NITF Meeting.
