New Multi-Language Function for RSPO PalmTrace

PalmTrace, the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil’s (RSPO) online traceability system for certified sustainable palm oil is now available in three new languages! Upon registration, PalmTrace users now have the option to switch from English to Bahasa Indonesia, Spanish, or Thai as their preferred language.

RSPO Head of European Operations, Dr. Inke van der Sluijs, shared that the new languages function on PalmTrace is an initiative by the RSPO Secretariat and the service provider aimed at improving the user experience for members. “We wanted to make the system more accessible for members, especially growers,” she said.

Updated system supports trade across all supply chain models

RSPO PalmTrace was first introduced in January 2017, effectively replacing RSPO eTrace (RSPO’s previous online credit trading platform). Previously, AAK's Greenpalm system was utilised for this purpose but it was limited to the trade of RSPO-certified palm oil volumes under the Book and Claim model only. In comparison, the current platform supports the trade of RSPO-certified volumes across all RSPO supply chain models: Identify Preserved, Segregated, Mass Balance and Book and Claim (RSPO Credits).

Streamlining the certification process

Since its introduction, PalmTrace has played an integral role in RSPO certification. RSPO members across the palm oil supply chain not only register the physical sale of palm oil, palm kernel and their derivatives, but also the processing activities of these oil palm products. RSPO PalmTrace is developed and managed by UTZ, one of RSPO’s sustainability standards partners, in close cooperation with the RSPO Secretariat and the Trade & Traceability Standing Committee.
