Sustainability College Launches at EURT with RT Pass Giveaway

The recent European Roundtable (EURT) held in Paris on 25 and 26 June 2018 marked the official launch of RSPO’s new and improved Sustainability College, with Datuk Darrel Webber announcing the platform to more than 350 attendees during his opening speech. For the past four months, the RSPO Secretariat has been working hard to create an engaging and easy-to-use platform through beta testing, which involved collaboration with key stakeholders.

RSPO Global Outreach and Engagement Director Stefano Savi said: “Through gaining insights from these stakeholders, we were not only able to understand what content they wanted to be available on this platform, but we were also able to understand how to make this platform a success for all to use.”

Sustainability College offers fun, educational content about sustainable palm oil

RSPO’s Sustainability College includes video content, an interactive leaderboard, and different levels of quizzes on topics like Free Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC), Certification, Remediation and Compensation Procedures (RaCP) and more. The platform aims to educate and inform our seven stakeholder groups about sustainable palm oil related topics in a fun, unique, and interactive way.

The platform launched with six courses; FPIC, RaCP, the Role of Certification, Best Management Practices (BMPs) for Existing Oil Palm Cultivation on Peat, New Planting Procedures (NPP), and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions. “We aim to release more courses on key RSPO topics over the next year, with the goal to collaborate with other sustainable and/or like-minded organisations on courses in the future. We are also proud to announce that in the beta testing phase alone, we have managed to gain almost 500 registered users, and hope to grow this even further in the coming months,” Stefano Savi said.
