Eleanor Spencer
Palm Oil Technical Advisor, Business and Biodiversity Programme,
Zoological Society of London (ZSL)
Eleanor manages the palm oil workstream within the Business and Biodiversity Programme at the Zoological Society of London (ZSL), an international conservation charity working to create a world where wildlife thrives. Her role includes oversight of all of ZSL’s assessment and engagement work with the palm oil industry, to support improved company transparency and reporting on key environmental and social sustainability issues in upstream operations.
Eleanor joined ZSL in 2015, and previously had a focus on engagement with the financial sector on sustainability in forest-risk commodity production, in particular across palm oil, timber and pulp, and natural rubber supply chains. She has a background in supply chain sustainability and governance across various other soft commodity sectors, including soy, cattle and seaweed. Eleanor holds an MSc in Biodiversity Conservation and Management from the University of Oxford.
