The RSPO NI document for the country of India on RSPO Principles and Criteria 2018 (P&C 2018) has been developed through a comprehensive development process including two rounds of consultation with all relevant groups varied across different user of Palm oil in India including representations from Palm Oil Millers, Growers (Farmer Association), Retailers, Consumer Goods Manufacturers, Processors & Palm oil traders, Banks & Investors, Social NGO, Environmental NGO, Technical experts from State Horticultural Department & Agricultural Institutes and industry thought leaders. Formation of this National Interpretation Working Group (NIWG) had ensured all required procedures, communications and actions taken are properly documented and recorded.
While drafting the RSPO NI document of India it was ensured that it accurately reflects the nature of the industry in India, particularly national legislation, and laws in the India whilst maintaining and, in some cases, strengthening the integrity of the RSPO requirements for certification.
We are now inviting Public consultation on the India National Interpretation 2019 draft. The draft is available in English.
