Papua New Guinea (PNG): National Interpretation Public Consultation

National Interpretation Public Consultations 04 May 2017

The Papua New Guinea National Interpretation (PNGNI) 2017 of the RSPO Principles and Criteria has been developed by the participatory multi - stakeholder PNG National Interpretation Task Force (PNGNI TF) which has included representation from the industry, smallholders, the PNG Government, social and environmental NGOs and the financial sector.

The PNGNI 2017 has been drafted after an extensive development process including consultation with associated Smallholder groups in producing provinces to ensure that it accurately reflects the nature of the industry in PNG, particularly smallholder relationships, and is also reflective of national legislation, and customs in the Country whilst maintaining and, in some cases, strengthening the integrity of the RSPO requirements for certification.

Public consultation is now invited on the PNG National Interpretation 2017 document.

Consultation Period on the NI 2017 revision draft which is available for download on the RSPO website is from 4th May 2017 to 3rd July 2017.

Please direct your questions, comments and observations on the Papua New Guinea National Interpretation 2017 (Draft) by email to the Task Force Facilitator, Murray Feddersen not later than 3rd July 2017.

Murray’s email address for comments and observations is [email protected]
