Call for Participation and Nomination for RSPO’s Decent Living Wage Task Force

The 2018 RSPO Principles and Criteria (P&C) requires that a Decent Living Wage (DLW) be paid to all workers, including those on piece rate/quotas, for whom calculation is based on achievable quotas during regular working hours.

Indicator 6.2.6 of the 2018 RSPO P&C contains a Procedural Note stating:

“The RSPO Labour Task Force will prepare a guidance on the DLW implementation, including details on how to calculate a DLW, expected for 2019. The RSPO Secretariat will endeavour to carry out DLW country benchmarks for palm oil producing countries in which RSPO members operate and for which no Global Living Wage Coalition (GLWC) benchmarks exist.”

A guidance document on DLW calculation has already been produced and the RSPO is working on developing DLW country benchmarks for palm oil producing countries where RSPO members operate.

To this end, there is a need for the establishment of a Decent Living Wage Task Force (DLW TF). As such, we wish to invite interested members with technical expertise in the subject matter to submit their expression of interest to join the DLW TF. On-ground experience would be an added advantage in enriching the discussions of the DLW TF.

Interested members and stakeholders may send in their expression of interest to [email protected]
