RSPO Secretariat has developed the draft of the New Planting Procedures (NPP) guidance document for smallholders. This is part of the process towards meeting the request as expressed in the Resolution 6f GA13/2016, which demanded that all smallholders - independent, scheme and associated – are reprieve from the New Planting Procedure until a review of the updated NPP guidance document is completed.
The RSPO NPP consists of a set of assessments and verification activities to be conducted by growers and certification bodies (CB) or, only in the case of independent smallholders, by Group Managers (GM) and the RSPO Secretariat, prior to a new oil palm development, to help guide responsible planting.
We wish to invite all stakeholders to review the draft procedures and share their practical experiences and recommendations to the documents with regards to the procedures.
The public consultation period will last for 60 days, from the 1st September 2017 until including 30th October 2017.
