Segregated sustainable palm oil arrives to the U.S.

As more and more segregated certified sustainable palm oil streams into several sea ports in Europe, the first shipments of segregated oil have now reached the United States as well. Recently, oil and fats manufacturer AAKannounced the arrival of the first shipment of segregated RSPO-certified sustainable palm oil to its refinery in Port Newark, New Jersey.

The first shipment to the U.S. marked the beginning of a time in which U.S. consumer good manufacturers will also have the option to physically source sustainable palm oil for use in their products. They can, however, choose to continue offsetting conventional palm oil use with GreenPalm certificates as well.
