RSPO has accepted the decision by Control Union Certification (CUC) to lift their self-suspension on their RSPO Principles &Criteria (P&C) certification services. This acceptance by the RSPO is made upon reviewing the report from the 3rd party accreditation body, ASI, on the measures established by CUC in addressing the specific issues observed during the accreditation audits in November 2011.
This audit identified some outstanding non-conformity which CUC is in the process of addressing. ASI have scheduled a return field audit in the near future and based on the outcome of the audit, RSPO will take the appropriate subsequent measures.
Meanwhile, CUC is permitted to enter establish new contracts for certification and re-certification of RSPO grower members. During this time, CUC will submit monthly updates of its’ certification activities to the RSPO along with a clear audit plan together with its public notification for every new audit; In addition all certification reports must be submitted for peer review by the RSPO within 30 days after the completion of field audit; and similarly, all responses to the reviewer’s comments must be completed within the same time line.
